- Do not leave a gas fireplace burning over night even with carbon monoxide detectors
Electric fireplace safety tips
An electric fireplace is really simple in use, all you need to do is plug it in. They can even be portable and you can choose whether you just want the effect of a fireplace or the effect plus the heat. They may seem easy to use but they also have a few safety tips that are best to follow
- Check connections – make sure nothing to worn
- When you are not using your electric fireplace unplug it
- Do not overload the socket – it is best to plug into the wall as opposed to an adaptor
- DO NOT THROW WATER ON IT
- Do not place combustible items near an electric fireplace
